These LGBTQ-Friendly Destinations Will Steal Your Heart: A Travel Guide to Acceptance and Adventure

Take a trip to some of the best LGBTQ-friendly places!

Hey there, fellow dream trippers! The best thing about my job is the amazing opportunities to travel the world. Through that, I've discovered some awe-inspiring destinations where LGBTQ travelers can truly be themselves, all while experiencing the joy of travelling across the globe. Let’s go on a journey of some of my favorites!

Oh, Canada! This gorgeous country warms my heart with its combination of progressive values and breathtaking landscapes. From Vancouver's diverse neighborhoods to Toronto's dynamic LGBTQ village in Church-Wellesley, you'll find acceptance wrapped in the warmest Canadian hospitality. Whether you’re embarking on a cruise ship in Vancouver, riding the rails through the Canadian Rockies, or just relaxing while eating poutine in Montreal or Quebec, you’re sure to feel right at home. You may have to dress for the cold, but you will certainly be warmly welcomed.

Malta might be tiny, but this gem of the Mediterranean packs a powerful punch when it comes to LGBTQ rights and acceptance. Ancient streets, crystal-clear waters, and progressive attitudes make this island nation a perfect escape for travelers seeking both culture and comfort. From its medieval architecture (which was “home” to King’s Landing!) to the neoclassical buildings like the Rotunda of Mosta, Malta is the place to be to see the years of architecture. Hop aboard a gondola to get an amazing view of the Valletta skyline or shop in Mdina for exquisite blown glass. Whatever you decide, this small archipelago is not to be missed!

Greece isn't just about ancient ruins and Mediterranean cuisine – islands like Mykonos have long been LGBTQ havens, while Athens offers a growing scene of inclusive spaces with an ancient landscape. Those stunning sunsets in Oia on Santorini feel even more magical when you can be completely yourself.

Spain, which is known for its lively culture, is also recognized as one of the most culturally liberal and LGBTQ-friendly countries in the world. Even Madrid, the capital city of Spain, is also considered the gay capital of the country and is home to Chueca Square, a must-visit for anyone interested in accepting and vibrant entertainment. Not only can you find monuments of culture, art, and history, but Spain is bursting with an exciting and welcoming atmosphere that can be found nowhere else.

One last place on this journey is Iceland. With a population of around 140,000 residents, pride in the capital city of Reykjavik attracts over 100,000 people annually. What other Pride Fest can say they draw their population in travelers from around the world? The landscape of Iceland is almost surreal as well, from Gullfoss Falls, the geothermal geyser at Thingvellir National Park, or eating warm bread that was baked in the volcanic ground!

While the places I have been is only a short list, stunning countries like Portugal, Thailand and Australia are also widely known to be LGBTQ-friendly, and even celebratory. Want to visit, take a relaxing cruise, and only unpack once? Embark on a cruise to the Southern Caribbean and visit, Curacao, Bonaire and Aruba. You will not be disappointed!

I would love to help you plan that romantic getaway, a solo adventure, or a group celebration to one of these destinations! Pack your bags, embrace your authentic self, and get ready to explore these amazing corners of our beautiful planet!

It all begins with an idea.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
